Important Date Change Notice August 29, 2011
*NOTE: The date of the below referenced changes has been moved to Thursday, September 8th, 2011.*
As you may be aware, the Texas Legislature made significant changes to the Property Code during the 2011
Legislative Session that ended recently. The changes include amendments to the requirements for the issue of
Resale Certificates. Associations are required to provide specific information whenever requested relating to a
sale of a Unit/Lot. They can no longer simply provide the financial information for the closing. As a result,
effective September 8, 2011, requests for Quotes will no longer be accepted.
To ensure we are providing the resale information required by law, the Quote and Resale Package will be
consolidated. As of September 8, 2011, the Resale Package will include a current copy of the operating
budget, declaration, bylaws, any association rules, and a resale certificate containing the amount of any
recurring assessments or special assessments, any unpaid amounts or fees due at closing, any known unit
violations, and other association-specific disclosures.
Beginning September 8, 2011, we will be upgrading our systems to take advantage of the latest electronic
processing technologies and have modified some of our materials to make submitting your requests for resale
certificates easier than ever. All orders for resale or lender documents, including questionnaires, must be
submitted online via AMI’s website at www.amitx.com . If you do not have internet access, you will be ableto request the paper request form for the property.
Effective September 8, 2011, the following packages will be available on our website:
Resale Packages Fee
Standard (10 business days) $175.00
Rush (5 business days) $225.00
Next Day (End of next business day) $275.00

Uniform Mortgage Questionnaires
Standard ( 10 business days) $175.00
Rush (5 business days) $225.00

In addition to using the online service to place orders, effective September 8, 2011, you will be able to easily
check the order’s status and request updates online. When ordering online, you will have the opportunity to pay
by Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, third-party payment or mail-in check.
Sincerely,

Texas Driver’s License
If you have a current Texas driver’s license and you move to a new location in Texas you have 30 days to
change the address on your driver’s license. The simplest way to do this is online. Go to
www.txdps.state.tx.us and follow the instructions for changing your address. You will need to have a
valid credit card for paying the $10.00 fee, and you will need access to a printer so that you can print out
your temporary receipt. Otherwise, call or go in person to one of the Texas DPS locations (see list below).
For a new Texas driver’s license (first time license or moving to Texas from out of state) go in person to a
DPS location. You will need to complete an application, provide proof of identity (proof of Social
Security, birth certificate, or an out of state driver’s license), provide proof of vehicle registration, consent
to be photographed, fingerprinted, and provide a signature. You will need to pass a vision examination.
First time applicants need to schedule a time for taking the driving test and pass both the driving and
written test. Out of state applicants should apply within 90 days after entry into the state and need to be
prepared to surrender their valid out of state driver’s license upon application. Fees are:
$25.00 for a driver’s license (expiration 6 years)
$16.00 for an ID card (under 60 years of age and expiration of 6 years)
$6.00 for an ID card (over 60 years of age and an indefinite expiration date)
